4. GoPro Hero 8

When it first launched, the GoPro Hero8 Black had some very big shoes to fill. While it doesn’t have a front-facing screen, this is still a great choice if you’re starting out with GoPros. It’s durable and easy to use—simply charge it with a USB cable, fire it up and choose from video, photo or timelapse, and you’re on your way.

5. GoPro Hero 6

The GoPro Hero6 Black looks just like the Hero5 Black. It's the same small size and still waterproof to 10m with the same ports, controls, battery and size of touchscreen on the back. However, it has improved image quality, faster Wi-Fi and the ability to capture slow-motion clips at up to 240fps. For the price, the image stabilisation and video quality make it the ideal budget option for adventurers.
