Im MPB-Studio nutzte Ian die Canon EOS 5DS R in Kombination mit den Objektiven EF 24-70mm f/4 L IS USM und EF 100mm f/2.8 L IS Macro. Porträts fotografierte er mit der Fujifilm GFX 50S und dem GF 110mm f/2. Für seine persönlichen Arbeiten verwendet Ian meist Filmkameras wie die Nikon FM3a und die Canon A1.
