The Nikon NIKKOR-S Auto 50mm f/1.4 is a manual-focus normal prime built for photographers who value character and light. With its bright f/1.4 aperture, it excels in low-light settings and delivers creamy background separation wide open. The lens has a robust all-metal barrel, smooth focus throw and a classic seven-element design. While softness, spherical aberration and vignetting are noticeable at f/1.4, stopping down to f/4-f/5.6 yields excellent sharpness in the centre. Ideal for portraits, film work, or adapting to mirrorless, it offers a tactile, vintage shooting experience.
