Landscape Photographer of the Year

MPB is proud to support Landscape Photographer of the Year.

Landscape Photographer of the Year Awards celebrates the wonder and joys of the great British landscape and showcases the work of many talented photographers from all over the world.

The photography competition is open to all, with a total prize fund worth over £20,000, an annual full-colour book of best entries and a touring exhibition throughout the UK. Landscape Photographer of the Year inspires us all to experience the joys of the British landscape first hand.

Running alongside the adult competition is Young Landscape Photographer Of The Year, open to everyone aged 18 or under.

In the 2023 Categories, you can expect a mixture of classic categories and Special Awards including:

  • Classic View

  • Urban Life

  • Your View

  • Black and White

  • Change: MPB-sponsored Special Award for 2023, with a focus on our changing environment

The Overall Winner will be awarded £10,000, with additional prizes for category and special award winners. The Overall Youth Winner will be awarded £1,000.

Images must be of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands but you do not have to be a UK resident to enter – entries are welcome from overseas entrants. 

Entry fees for the main competition:

  • A single image entry costs £9.99 (GBP)

  • 8 entries cost £24.99 (GBP)

  • 20 entries cost £34.99 (GBP)

To enter the main competition you must be 19 years or older. The Youth Competition is free for everyone aged 18 and under in 2022.

Book

All winning and commended entries will be published in Collection 16 in October 2023 – a full-colour coffee-table book.

Exhibition

In partnership with Network Rail, an exhibition of award-winning images from the 2023 competition will tour the UK at some of our biggest and busiest train stations.
