Review: Canon EOS 750D specs

Published March 17, 2025 by MPB

The Canon EOS 750D APS-C format DSLR includes a 24.2-megapixel sensor, 19 cross-point autofocus system, continuous shooting of up to five frames-per-second and 1080p Full HD video recording.

The 750D’s APS-C sensor has 24.2 effective megapixels, which helps to capture images with fine detail, even in tricky low-light situations. The camera’s 19 autofocus points are all cross-type at f/5.6, so they are all able to analyze both horizontal and vertical lines to help to deliver accurate, central focusing. The central autofocus point is a double cross-type point at f/2.8, meaning you can focus on and shoot central subjects in low light with a fairly fast aperture.

By incorporating a Hybrid CMOS AF III system, the camera is capable of delivering smooth, continuous focusing when you're shooting stills or movies in Live View mode. The camera has a 7,560-pixel, 63-zone, RGB+IR metering sensor linked to all 19 autofocus points to ensure accurate metering of all scenes. The metering system also evaluates color for accurate rendition in differing lighting conditions, including infrared lighting.

The 750D includes a rear three-inch [7.7cm], Vari-angle, Clear View II LCD touchscreen. This touchscreen has a 1,040K-dot resolution, 3:2 format, offers approximately 100% coverage and you can adjust its brightness to one of seven levels—all of these features help for the easy review of still photographs. The LCD displays the camera settings and a Quick Control Screen for rapid access to view and control settings. As its name suggests, the Vari-angle LCD screen is adjustable to different angles to add extra creative possibilities for shooting either stills or movies.

The camera features both WiFi and Near Field Communication (NFC) connectivity. The 750D’s WiFi connectivity options mean you can share images to a smartphone, transfer images between cameras, print images to a WiFi printer, save images to a Canon Connect Station, view images using a media player or send images to a web service. The NFC option, available on compatible Canon or Android devices, means the camera is capable of connecting to a smartphone by simply tapping the device on the camera.

The APS-C format of the 750D means it effectively adds a further 1.6x focal length power to your pictures. For example, using a 200mm lens with the 750D will give you an effective focal length of 320mm. The same 200mm lens on a full-frame camera will offer exactly 200mm. You're effectively getting 'closer' to far-off subjects, such as nature or sports.

The camera has a standard ISO range of 100-12,800 but an additional ’H’ expandable setting means you can extend the ISO up to 25,600. This high ISO enables you to handle almost any lighting situation while maintaining sharpness, crisp focusing and little or no noticeable grain in your images.

The 750D has a solid overall spec, which also includes 1080p Full HD movie shooting at 24p, 25p and 30p, and a top shutter speed of 1/4000sec for capturing action. It also features 13 Custom Functions so you can set the camera to be more intuitive to use. The 750D is also compatible with all of Canon’s EF and EF-S lens ranges, thus opening up a huge range of creative shooting possibilities.
