En MPB, Ian utilizaba la Canon EOS 5DS R, el EF 24-70mm f/4 L IS USM y el EF 100mm f/2.8 L Macro IS USM para fotografía de producto. En su trabajo personal, se inclina por cámaras y objetivos que le permiten trabajar de forma intuitiva y centrarse en escenas cotidianas, detalles y atmósferas.
